It's quite simple really.
You can pay someone to do it.
That usually costs around $25-$35 each wheel.
Or you can do it yourself.
I bought a small electric circular sander.
This is what I have done so far.
I didn't strip anything or prepare anything before I started.
The wheels were fairly clean to begin with.
I also cleaned the inside. This usually doesn't take too long. I used the automotive grade Simple Green. If you have a cleaner that you like more, let me know. I'm open to trying different cleaners.
Well, I decided to see what they'd look like when they have black insets. This isn't hard, and it's easy to get rid of if it looks like crap. I gave up on doing them myself. I found a local place that only charged me $120 for all four wheels. That's $30 per wheel to have them polished. And once I bought my AE, I had to have them done to those wheels as well. What I got back from the metal polishers. Spray painting the insets. Note that I did not use tape to tape the polished area off. It was taking too much time.
